Element Helps Fight Against PIPA and SOPA by Creating "Vote for the Net"
Element is pleased to announce the launch of their first client project of 2012— "Vote for the Net", a site devoted to rallying support against the PROTECT IP Act and SOPA. Time is of the essence, as these bills are a very real threat to the integrity and openness of the Internet. Element coordinated efforts with team-membersĀ at Demand Progress & Don't Censor the Net to create a site that quickly mobilizes the online community to pledge their support against PIPA and SOPA.
Not only does the site call for individuals to pledge their support, but to also put their political affiliations aside and support Senators across both parties who are leading the fight against the Internet Blacklist. To help spread the word, Element incorporated sharing capabilities via Twitter, Facebook, and Google Plus. Within 12 hours the site accumulated over 25,000 pledges and continues to grow rapidly. As of this release, the site has collected close to 50,000 pledges and shows no sign of slowing down. This is truly a bi-partisan effort and one in which Element is proud to have helped build. "Fighting online piracy is a worthy cause, but not at the expense of censorship or stifling the Internet." says Phil Coffman, Creative Director at Element.
Join us, stand for Internet freedom, and Vote for the Net!
